  • Spring Lake Elementary School in Ocoee, Florida, has a history involving multiple buildings and expansions.  The first Spring Lake Elementary was built in 1887.  The second school building was constructed in 1960.  This second building was eventually torn down and replaced with a new, larger facility, which officially opened in August 2014. Construction on this third building began in 2013. The new building was dedicated in March 2015.

During the mid-1980s, the school underwent significant growth, resulting in the use of numerous portable classrooms. The opening of a new elementary school in 1986 and a shift to the middle school concept helped reduce Spring Lake's enrollment.  In 2007, the school added new classrooms on the northwest side of the campus, equipped with modern technology.  Spring Lake Elementary is now a diverse neighborhood school, serving a multicultural student population.

  • Spring Lake Elementary in Ocoee, Florida, has received award and recognition for its dedication to education and community involvement:

    • Five Star School Award: Spring Lake Elementary has received the Florida Commissioner's Community Involvement Council's Five Star School award, recognizing exemplary community involvement in categories like business partnerships, family involvement, volunteerism, student community service, and School Advisory Councils.
